Laughter is contagious. When laughter is shared, it creates a bond between the people laughing. When we see and hear people laughing, we sometimes laugh as well…even when we don’t know what they are laughing about. Laughter helps us relax as it releases endorphins from the brain which promote a sense of well-being for the person laughing. Some people say it can temporarily help relieve pain.
Laughter supports our physical health as it strengthens the immune system and helps us to eliminate stress. This ability to laugh helps us through the tough times and supports our emotional health as well.
